Since March 2014, Dutch passports for adults are valid for 10 years, while Dutch passports for children below 18 are valid for 5 years. You can find the exact expiration date of your passport under the heading \u201cgeldig tot \/ date of expiry\u201d on your passport.<\/p>\n
Note that renewing your Dutch passport at the embassy in Israel will take about 3 weeks. Hence, it is recommended to start the application for a new passport at least three weeks before your current passport expires<\/p>\n
What documents do I need to renew my passport?<\/strong><\/h4>\nThe following documents are always required when you issue a new passport, regardless of your personal situation:<\/p>\n
\n- Dutch passport(s) and Dutch identity cards. If not yet annulled by the Dutch government, you must also bring your expired Dutch passport(s) and\/or Dutch identity cards<\/li>\n
- Proof of legal residence in Israel – a valid visa issued by the Israeli Ministry of Interior or an Israeli passport. You are required to bring the original and a copy.<\/li>\n
- Passport photo that meets the criteria of the Dutch government<\/a><\/li>\n
- Filled out application form to request a (new) passport,\u00a0referred to as \u201cPaspoortaanvraagformulier<\/a>\u201d in Dutch.<\/li>\n
- You may have to bring additional documents, which depends on your personal situation. To make sure applicants bring the right documents, the Dutch government launched a webpage where you can fill out a brief questionnaire about your personal situation, after which you are presented with a complete list of all the documents you need.
